Larissa joined Waterkeeper Alliance in 2015. She is a member of the Clean and Safe Energy Team, working on a broad range of issues related to water impacts from fossil fuel development and use, including coal ash and pipelines. Larissa also coordinates Waterkeeper Alliance’s mobilization against federal legislative attempts to weaken environmental protections.
Prior to joining Waterkeeper Alliance, she worked as a Legal Associate at Potomac Riverkeeper Network. While studying at American University’s Washington College of Law, she interned at a number of environmental non-profits, including San Diego Coastkeeper. As an undergraduate at Brandeis University, Larissa majored in Environmental Studies. Her first undergrad internship was with Hudson Riverkeeper, which is what inspired her to go to law school and sparked her passion for the Waterkeeper movement.
Larissa grew up in New York’s Hudson Valley, where she developed a love of the outdoors through her family’s many hikes. She loves that her job lets her work with inspiring Waterkeepers around the world who protect diverse, but all equally wonderful, waterways.
